Frequently Asked Questions for Online Courses
Q. Do I have to be online at a specific time?
A. Currently, none of our online courses require you to be online at a specific time.
Q. How many online courses can I take at one time?
A. We recommend that you start out with only one or two online courses per month, until you get a feel for the pace of these courses and how they work with your own schedule.
Q. How do I access my online course?
A. How you access your online course depends on what course you are in. Please refer to your receipt of registration or your welcome email for access information. If you have lost this information, please contact online@kennesaw.edu.
Q. How long do I have to complete the course?
A. The length of time you have to complete your course varies. For our online courses with specific start dates, you generally have about two weeks after the final exam release date to complete all assignments, quizzes, and the final exam (for a total of 8 weeks). For our start anytime courses, you may have from 3 to 6 months to complete the course, depending upon the subject matter.
Q. What if I don’t finish in the time allowed?
A. Most of our courses do offer an extension possibility, though we encourage you to complete your courses in a timely manner. If you need to get an extension, please contact online@kennesaw.edu for instructions.
Q. How will I receive my lessons, quizzes and assignments?
A. Each course comes complete with an online classroom. You will be able to use your web browser to access the online classroom and obtain your course material and communicate with your instructor.
Q. Will my online course have an instructor?
A. During your online course, you will have access to an instructor that can answer your questions.
Q. Are books included in the price of this course?
A. Books are included with some courses, but not all. Many courses do not require separate books. Please check the individual course description to find out if books are included for your course. If books are required, but not included in the price, the course description will mention the required books. Please contact online@kennesaw.edu for questions regarding books.
Q. How can I get the software I need for my online course?
A. You can purchase most software needed for an online course at academic prices through the KSU Bookstore. To purchase software from the KSU Bookstore, you must have a permission letter from the program coordinator. For more information on this, please contact online@kennesaw.edu.
Q. What is your refund policy?
A. Our refund policy varies depending on the type of course in which you are enrolled. For our online course refund policy, click here.
Q. How do I get my certificate?
A. You do not need to request a certificate. After you have completed your online course, we will mail you a completion certificate within a few weeks. If you have completed one of our series certificate programs, we will also send you that certificate within a few weeks of completion of the final course in the series.
