>Sociology major makes changes including addition of four new courses (ANTH 3315, ANTH 3370, ANTH

> B.S. in Computer Science requirement for modifying the degree program comes from two

> BS in Information Systems adds three courses to their major degree electives: 1) MKTG 3100
Principles of Marketing; 2) CSIS 4515 Computer Ethics; 3) CSIS 3150 Programming Languages

*Changes to Existing Minor Programs*
`>Anthropology Minor makes changes including the deletion of SOCI 3300 which was replaced
by ANTH 4450. ANTH 2201 is included as a prerequisite choice for all anthropology courses
since it has been added as a prerequisite to those courses. New course choices in the minor
are ANTH 3305, ANTH 3315, ANTH 3350, ANTH 3370, ANTH 4450, GEOG 3360.
> Native American Indians minor makes revisions including the addition of ANTH 3315 -
The Southeastern Indians. This increases the requirements from two courses to three courses.

*Graduate Policy Changes*
< After reviewing the Integrated Graduate Studies: Bachelors-Masters Degree Option
under the Special Graduate Admissions section of the KSU Graduate Catalog, the
department of baccalaureate degree nursing recommended several amendments to the
Fast-Track Options for RN-BSN students:
-waiving the 90 semester hour requirement ;
-lowering the GPA requirement for participation from 3.5 to 3.0;
-provisionally admitting students to the program pending successful completion
of the dual credit graduate level courses and meeting the GRE requirement prior
to their graduation with the BSN.
*Graduate Certificate Programs*
< The GPCC approved guidelines for graduate certificate programs. Three pilot
certificate programs (Nonprofit Management, E-Business, and Entrepreneurship)
will be offered in Fall 2000 .
*Graduate Programs/Concentrations Changes*
< Finance concentration in MBA program makes changes including FIN 8320 (title change),
FIN 8400 (deleted), and FIN 8410 (new course). For details, see below.
< Economics concentration in MBA program makes changes including the addition of two
new courses ECON 8720-Multivariate Data Analysis and ECON 8760-Simulation and Risk
Analysis. These changes were made mainly because the Business Economics concentration
did not provide an appropriate range of quantitative courses.
< Legacy System Re-engineering Specialty Concentration is removed. IS 8424, 8426, and
8428 are deleted as a result of this concentration removal.
< New concentration in Criminal Justice Administration.
< A Web Master of Business Administration (WebMBA) Pilot program will be offered beginning
Fall 2000. This pilot program is Board of Regents approved and five AACBS accredited
business schools in Georgia are participating in this collaborative, exclusively web-based
Master of Business Administration (WebMBA) program.
< The e-Business System specialty concentration is added to the Master of Science in
Information Systems program.
< Tax track in the Macc program and accounting concentration in MBA make changes to
existing course titles and add three new courses.

FINAL ACTIONS ON RECOMMENDATIONS FOR UNIVERSITY SENATE ACTIONS SPRING SEMESTER 2000.
The following Senate recommendations have been approved for implementation. Where
applicable, these approvals will be included in the latest editions of the catalogs
and/or handbooks of Kennesaw State University.
> KSUs Intellectual Property Policy proposal was accepted.
> Amended parking proposal "Parking at Kennesaw State University" was passed. This
proposal replaced the Proposal: A Policy on Parking at Kennesaw State University
prepared by the Senate Task Force on Parking.
> Oversight Committee document on review of current academic years Third Year Review,
Tenure & Promotion, and Post-Tenure Review process was approved. These revisions will
be made to the KSU 2000 Faculty Handbook.
> Teaching, Supervision, and Mentoring Effectiveness conference committee document was
accepted as a substitute for the original proposal with the Executive Committee reviewing
any necessary editorial changes. The document is to be incorporated into the 2000 KSU Faculty
Handbook.
