> The BDN program in the School of Nursing revises the policy previously
dismissing students from the program after two failures of a School of
Nursing required course, without a vehicle for due process. The new
policy would allow a student to appeal to the Admissions, Progression
and Retention Committee of the School of Nursing within 30 days of
notification of withdrawal from the program.
School of the Arts

College of Humanities and Social Sciences
> International Affairs major adds HIST 3321 (Diplomatic History of the
U.S.) to Concentration I, adds MGT 4174 (International Human Resources
Management), and deletes HIST 3321 from Concentration III. These
changes to the program: 1) increase academic coherence and selection
within select concentrations; 2) better reflect courses concentration
topical areas (i.e. international business, economics and policy);
3) update course offerings.
> Sociology major makes several changes to their program. 1) under
lower division requirements, POLS 2280 is replaced with SSRM 2301;
2) CRJU 1101 is added to the list of Area F electives;
3) under Criminology Concentration, SOCI 3365 (Profile of Serial

> The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) format changed in October of 2002. The
verbal and quantitative sections remain
unchanged. In place of the analytical section of the test will be an
analytical writing section. To date, a 3.5 score for this section is
required by the following programs: Master of Science in Conflict
Management, Master of Public Administration and the Master of Arts in
Professional Writing. Other programs with the GRE requirement are also
expected to make this change.
> Change in the M.Ed. in Adolescent Education admission requirement.
The 800 minimum score on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is eliminated,
but the requirement to take the test still applies. It is noted that
although no minimum score is required, the applicantŐs GRE or MAT
scores will be considered in the competitive review process.
Master in Accounting and Career Growth MBA
Both programs eliminate the typed personal statement of objectives from
their general requirements for admission to their program.
Master of Science in Conflict Management
The Master of Science in Conflict Management curriculum has been
restructured so that the present four core courses are deleted. The same
