The program of study in early childhood education leads to a Bachelor of Science degree and provides students with broad-field teacher licensure for grades P-5 in early childhood education. This program is designed to meet Georgia Requirements for teacher licensure. Built on a solid foundation of strong academic preparation in the content fields and professional studies, and relevant, school-based clinical experiences, the program in Early Childhood Education is intended to provide students with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and an awareness of and sensitivity to cultural diversity and individual differences among young learners.
