Parents, thank you for considering sending your child to Kennesaw State University. The type of parent who would take the time to find out the details of an institution is the type of parent who has likely raised a wonderful and academically motivated child.
As a professor of biology, I often see students who come to class with the excitement and energy to conquer the world. One of the realities of this passion is that it must be combined with perseverance, scholarship and resources to achieve success. Parents, one of the greatest gifts you can offer your college student is to serve as a mentor. College students have usually outgrown the stage where parents know nothing. This regained position that was somehow lost during teenaged years, can be used to encourage students to keep going. Even as children become adults, there is almost no one more meaningful in their lives than their parents.
Parents, thank you again for allowing the Kennesaw State community and me to be part of your child's team for success. Together, we will be the tools of your child's accomplishments. We will be supportive, uplifting and yet non-intrusive. I look forward to meeting you and our new college student.
