Q: How can I get an athletic scholarship?
A: Athletic scholarships are controlled by the respective coach. You,
or someone who knows your ability, should contact our coach and let him/her
know of your interest.
Q: Are you required to live on campus?
A: No. Kennesaw State University is a commuter institution and does
not have any on campus housing.
Q: Can I bring a car?
A: There is no restriction on students bringing cars, but parking can
be difficult especially when we begin construction on our Student Center
addition. There is an on-campus shuttle bus system and Cobb County Transit
has regular routes to and from campus.
Q: Is it safe?
A: Kennesaw's crime rate is comparable to any city of the same size.
KSU has a professional police force that is patrolled 24 hours a day. Using
common sense and normal precautions should assure your safety.
Q: When should I apply?
A: For freshmen, sometime between September and January of your senior
year is preferred. A more detailed description is offered here.
Q: How long does it take to find out
an admissions decision?
A: Usually four to six weeks after all documents are submitted. Graduate
decisions are dependant upon the academic department.
Q: What are your freshman requirements?
A: Generally speaking, students with a 2.0 average in the academic
subjects of a good college prep program and at least a 430 Verbal and a
400 Math score on the recentered SAT or 18 English and 16 Math on the ACT
are going to be admissible.
Q: What courses do I need in high
school to be admitted?
A: You need 4 units of English, 4 units of math (Algebra I and above), 3
units of natural science, 3 units of social science, and 2 units of the same
foreign language.
Q: Is it easier to be admitted for
the Summer?
A: Our standards are basically the same, but since demand is less,
students can get an early start.
Q: How much will it cost?
A: For tuition, fees and books approximately $9,036 for out-of-state students;
in-state $3,240. (Estimates based on undergraduate fees for the 2001 - 2002

Q: What types of financial aid are
available?
A: The traditional types of financial aid include grants, loans, and
work study.
Q: How do I apply for financial aid?
A: Two forms are required a national form, Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA), and a KSU institutional form. FAFSA is available everywhere;
students must contact the KSU Office of Financial Aid for the institutional
form.
