CAREER:
Fred has served in higher education for over 30 years. He has served as consultant, administrator, and faculty member. He has recently served as the Registrar for Spelman College. His previous higher education experiences include Dean, Enrollment Management/Registrar for Clark Atlanta University where he designed the Enrollment Management organization following the consolidation of Clark College and Atlanta University. As Dean, he supervised the Offices of Marketing and Recruitment, Admissions and Articulation, Records and Registration, Financial Aid, and Research and Data Services. He presided over an enrollment increase from 4300 to 6500.

While at CAU, Fred had significant roles in the implementation of three Information Management systems including Datatel’s Colleague and SunGard’s Banner. Between Registrar roles at CAU and Spelman College, Fred served for six years as Associate Professor of Decision Sciences in the School of Business. He taught courses in Production and Operations Management, Statistics, Logistics Management, and Management Information Systems.
Prior to his time in higher education, Fred served as a systems analyst The Mitre Corporation, Leasco-Response, Inc., IBM Corporation, and the US Air Force (Capt). Additional, he was Assistant Professor of Management Sciences at Florida A&M University and a Program Director for the Institute for Services to Education.


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Fred has been involved in state, regional and national professional organizations. He has served Georgia (GACRAO) as President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, and member of the Program Committee. He was awarded the GACRAO’s Outstanding New Professional Award in 1986. He served SACRAO as Vice President for Data Management and Research, member of several committees, MOSIS Program committee and was elected to the N&E committee. Fred’s AACRAO activities include the Board of Directors (President-Elect, President, Past President, and Vice President for Registration and Records Management), Chair of AACRAO’s Bylaws Task Force, Records Management Committee, and Caucus for Black Concerns and a elected member of the Nominations and Elections Committee. He has made professional presentations at GACRAO, SACRAO, AACRAO and the Decision Sciences Institute.

EDUCATION:
Fred holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He holds the PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a focus in Operations Research. His studies include coursework at Northeastern University, MA, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, VA, George Mason University, VA and Georgia State University, GA. Memberships in academic honoraries include the Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Tau Fraternity, and Omicron Delta Kappa Society.


PERSONAL:
Fred is married and is the father of three sons and a daughter. He and his wife are “empty nesters” with three grandchildren. He enjoys tennis, singing in choirs, amateur photography, travel, and volunteer work on church committees.
