Gary served at Vanderbilt University for thirty years, first as Academic Coordinator for Athletes (1973-1975), then as Associate University Registrar (1981-1987), and University Registrar (1987-July 31, 2008). He provided support for institutional studies in enrollment management, enrollment projection, retention, and graduation rates.

He has participated in staff retreats and seminars for various institutions.  He likes to make you laugh and learn something at the same time.  He is very proud of his wife Martha, his two children and his 9 grandchildren (so far).
