Learn how higher education is using creative financial packaging to build enrollment. A discussion of how tuition discounting, financial leveraging, creative price points, aid packaging, guaranteed tuition plans will be shared. It is vital to understand how these tools contribute to predictive enrollment modeling and increasing yields.

Substantive Change
This session will describe what substantive change is, and why both admissions and registration professionals need to know.  A definition of substantive change will be shared along with examples (such as moving from two-year to four-status, adding housing or implementing a new SIS).  Ways to avoid pitfalls when it comes to making a significant change on your campus, whether public or private, large or small will be shared.  Navigating definitions, deadlines, and approval with SACS can be overwhelming when it comes to sub change, and the presenter will share hands-on experience of an institution that has successfully undergone the substantive change process.

National Student Clearing House and the role of “Student Tracker”.

You will learn how this national repository provides a range of enrollment and loan verification services. Data and reporting tools that support retention, graduation, student tracking, transfers, degrees, attendance patterns, lenders and other enrollment measurements will be described.

The Role of Accreditation and SEM Professional Development

A presentation regarding the role of accreditation in higher education designed to assist enrollment officers  in how to recognize acceptable institutions and credits . Accrediting bodies will be contrasted to develop a functional awareness for practitioners regarding resources and best practices. Tools such as AACRAOs TCP, ACE and other guides will be referenced.

G.A.T.E.S. – Graduation Audit & Transfer Evaluation Services

   


In May 2009, KSU launched G.A.T.E.S. (Graduation Audit & Transfer Evaluation Services) to better serve students. This new service area provides prospective and currently enrolled students with information concerning their degree audit and transfer evaluations.  The Office of the Registrar, in collaboration with the  Office of Admissions, expanded the “Digital Back Office” concept by re-engineering the transfer evaluation process.  Degree Navigator was launched to provide students with academic advice and degree progression information.
