Career/Professional Work Experience
I am currently in my 23rd year as Registrar of Toccoa Falls College, serving six of those years as Director of Institutional Research in addition to my responsibilities as Registrar. I also serve as secretary of the Academic Affairs Committee as well as numerous other faculty committees, and have served as a team player on our weekly enrollment management directors meetings for the last 12 years.
Professional Development
Professional memberships currently include the Evangelical Theological Society, AACRAO, SACRAO, and GACRAO. In 2007, I became a member of the GISEM Charter Class of Registered Enrollment Professionals, earning the first GISEM Field Visit Peer Review Award. Conducting the Peer Reviews was a professional highlight for me—an experience I thoroughly enjoyed and hope to do more of in the future. Among others, I have also earned Certificates in Management, Leadership, and Strategic Enrollment Management: Small College Issues through AACRAO. Other professional development opportunities I have experienced include workshops in outcomes assessment, international student issues, study abroad, FERPA, and numerous systems software user group meetings.
Education
Graduating with the Bachelor of Science in Bible & Theology from Toccoa Falls College in 1979, I went on to take some general coursework in education and history from the University of Central Florida. Following this I completed my Master of Arts in Christian Thought (Biblical/Systematic Theology and Church History) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 1985, before coming to work at Toccoa Falls College in 1986.
Personal
My wife, Brenna, a college counselor, and I have been happily married for the past 20 years. We have been blessed with three children, Courtney, Kaley, and Wesley, the oldest now in college and the youngest just 1 year old! Extra-curricular activities include reading, family history, serving as Archivist on the Board of the Stephens County Foundation for the development of the Tugaloo Corridor Project, researching and writing about local native American history, and serving as faculty advisor to the TFC Outdoor Club. I am currently researching and writing a family devotional guide for Advent and The High Falls of Toccoa: A Pictorial and Literary History.
