Admission Scholar Mission and History
The Admission Scholar program is designed to attract and recognize our most academically talented freshmen. The Office of University Admission hosts the program and seeks to reach high ability traditional freshmen who have a strong academic preparation in the college bound courses. Successful students have strong high school college bound GPA's, exceptional SAT/ACT scores and may have supplemented preparation with honors, AP, IB or Joint Enrollment background.
It is the mission of the program to provide entering freshmen with a unique honor to be exclusively recognized as high performing college bound students. These students rank in the top 5% of the KSU entering class and will receive associated benefits.
Historically, colleges and universities do not provide such recognition on the front end of enrollment. However, it is the desire at KSU to enroll and announce these students by providing special benefits fitting for their performance. These benefits are designed to furnish accelerated features to efficiently complete the general education courses and learn about other leadership and honor opportunities in a convenient format.
The program is grounded in the University Admissions selection process with support from a number of Enrollment Service . Additionally, the elite Admission Scholars Great Books Cohort option is a partnership with a select group of our best full time professors. This extention of the Scholars Program is by invitation only and requries a commitment for the entire core to study the Great Books.
The program was founded by University Admissions and is managed for the sole purpose to offer recognition to these special students.
