International applicants should read the current catalog regarding the admission process as it relates to academic eligibility, Visa type, deadlines, fees, testing, residency and the proper submission of official documents.

If applying as an international applicant, documents must be evaluated and translated into English by an acceptable outside agency at the student's expense. Additionally, an official copy of the college transcript must be properly filed with the Office of Admissions by posted deadlines prior to receiving an institutional evaluation. Documents must arrive mailed directly from the institution or hand delivered in a sealed college envelope. Credits recognized for the degree program will be determined by the academic department at the time of advisement.

International Admission Requirements for:

F-1 Visa Students

1. Completed and signed application for admission to KSU.

2. Non-refundable $40 processing fee, payable to Kennesaw State University if you mail in your application or $30 if you apply online. To apply online, click here!

3. Official transcripts of all your high school or

post-secondary records. English evaluations of all foreign documents will be needed. You can have your transcripts evaluated at any of these four credential evaluation services:

Educational Credential Evaluations, Inc.(ECE)

Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. (JS&A)

4. Test results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)*

For undergraduate admission, you must have a minimum paper based total of 527 or computer based total of 197.

For graduate admission, you must have a minimum paper based total of 550 or computer based total of 213.

*Transfer students with a minimum of a C grade in freshman English composition courses (I and II) from North American colleges or universities are exempt from the TOEFL requirements.

5. Results from your Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT). For SAT and ACT score requirements, contact the Office of Admissions or check with the current catalog. Here are some links regarding testing and support services.

*Transfer students with at least a 2.0 grade point average and 30 transferable semester hours (45 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university in the United States are exempted from the SAT and ACT requirements.

6. Proof that funds for tuition, fees, and living expenses will be available prior to enrollment.

Proof includes:

An affidavit from your financial supporter, indicating his or her support for your in the amount designated by the university.
A sworn or notarized letter from an officer at the sponsor's bank, certifying that the sponsor has the designated amount of funds on the deposit for your tuition, fees and living expenses.

7. A certificate of immunization for measles, mumps, and rubella.

What are the requirements for the other non-immigrant visa?

If you have a nonimmigrant visa other than F-1 student visa (such as H, L, E, A, K, B, etc.), please contact the Office of Admissions so an admissions officer can determine your enrollment.

What are the requirements for Lawful Permanent Residents?

If you are a permanent resident whose official language is not English, you must satisfy an English proficiency requirement. Be sure to present your Alien Registration Card to the Office of Admissions for verification before you register for classes. Then you must follow the regular requirements for admission to Kennesaw State University .

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
MANDATORY HEALTH/MEDICAL INSURANCE PLAN

Eligibility for Coverage

All international students or scholars with a current passport and a non-immigrnt visa temporarily residing outside their home country, while actively engaged in education or educational research at Kennesaw State University, MUST be insured under this Plan.* (Premiums are collected per semester at the time of registration payment.) Students participating in Optional Practical Training approved by KSU may also participate in this plan.

* Exemptions from participation may be granted at the discretion of the administrator for students who are already covered under certain government or embassy-sponsored plans. To apply for an exemption, the student should contact the KSU International Center.

Description of Coverage
for Accident and Sickness Medical Expenses

Subject to the Deductible, this Plan will pay for each Injury or Sickness a percentage of the first $2,500 of Covered Medical Expenses. The percentage payable is as follows: SouthCare providers 90%; non-SouthCare providers 70%; Prescription drugs 80%. Thereafter, this Plan will pay 100% of Covered Medical Expenses up to a Maximum Benefit amount of $250,000 for each Injury or Sickness. The Deductibles are $50 per Injury or Sickness (waived if the student is fsirst treated at the KSU Student Health Center) and a deductible of $250 per hospital admission.

Use of hospital emergency room for Sickness will result in an additional deductible of $50. In addition, the Covered Medical expenses will be reduced by 20%. This limitation will not apply if it is a Medical Emergency or if the Insured Student is referred by the KSU Student Health Center.
