Joint Enrollment Honors Program

Courses for JEHP Juniors

While high school juniors are eligible to participate in Joint Enrollment if they meet the admissions criteria, there are restrictions for course registration:

1. High school juniors may take the fourth unit of English or Mathematics required for high school graduation only if they have completed the first three College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) course requirements in the respective subject area(s) before they begin their first term of enrollment at Kennesaw State.

2. High school juniors may take courses in Natural Science or Foreign Language subject areas only if they have completed all College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) course requirements in the respective subject area(s) before they begin their first term of enrollment at Kennesaw State.

The following exceptions to these restrictions may be granted on an individual basis:

1. High school juniors who demonstrate exceptional talent in the fine arts may enroll in other Music, Art, Theater, or advanced Foreign Language classes if they receive permission from the respective academic department at KSU, the Director of the Honors Program, and their guidance counselor or principal. Note that the student must pay tuition for any courses not on the Accel-approved course list.

2. High school juniors with a score of 700 or higher on the verbal section of the SAT or 31 or higher on the verbal section of the ACT may enroll in courses that require advanced verbal ability if they receive permission from the respective academic department at KSU, and their high school guidance counselor or principal.

3. High school juniors with a score of 700 or higher on the mathematics section of the SAT or 31 or higher on the mathematics section of the ACT may enroll in courses that require advanced mathematics ability if they receive permission from the respective academic department at KSU, and their high school guidance counselor or principal.
