Application Process

Prospects are encouraged to apply well in advance of the term they wish to enter. Beginning fall 2006, applications will primarily be accepted only on-line/internet.

1. Deadlines

All documents must be officially received by the posted deadline for the desired term of entry. This includes the application, fee, test scores, transcripts and any other document that may be required as requested by the Admissions staff.

2. Official Documents

Only official credentials will be used to process the file for completion. A final decision will not be announced until satisfactory documents are received. Documents stamped issued to: "Student or Unofficial" are not acceptable. Additionally, credentials that are transmitted via FAX, printed off the internet or emailed are not acceptable for processing. Informal documents only delay final processing and often confuse all parties.

3. Decision Method

KSU Admissions operates on a "rolling admission" policy. When the file is complete it is reviewed within ten days and a decision is posted on the Application Status Check. An email is sent to the student notifying that the decision is ready and instructions to access the Status Check feature is included. A hardcopy letter is sent following the web posting. KSU, at this time, does not release announcements on an annual method. They are reported as processed.

4. Application Status Check

Applicants may check the status of their application 24/7 by visiting the undergraduate web site and logging into the system. This feature permits the applicant to see the status of what has been received, possible testing requirements, communications sent and decision status.

5. Federal Privacy

As a result of FERPA compliance, the Federal Government restricts the release of personal information to third parties. (Parents, Spouses, Siblings or others) Grades, test scores, high school/college transfer performance, conditions of admissions and admission decisions are not disclosed.
