College of Health
& Human Services
The College of Health and Human Services
offers bachelor's degrees in nursing, exercise and
health science, health and physical education (teacher
education P-12), and public and social services. The
college also offers two graduate degrees: a master
of science in nursing for registered nurses seeking
certification as family nurse practitioners.
Fitness and health promotion in the
workplace is a booming industry, and the focus on
programs and services for senior citizens also have
intensified. The number of charitable and non-profit
human-services organizations is rapidly multiplying.
Meanwhile, the health care industry has undergone
significant changes. In addition to hospital-based
medical services, today's health-care systems include
home-health units, hospice care, school-health programs,
wellness centers and extended-care facilities. All
these trends have created additional career opportunities
for graduates of the College of Health and Human Services.
Admission to the bachelor degree and master degree programs
is very competitive.
