Freshman Requirements

Freshmen applicants for admission should send the following credentials by the posted deadline:

• Undergraduate application
• Official high school transcript
• Official SAT/ACT scores
Immunization Form
  - This downloadable immunization form is furnished for your convenience. It must be first printed, accurately completed and signed by your physician or health provider and sent to the KSU Health Clinic .

Graduate from regionally accredited high school recognized by KSU

Complete CPC classes: 4 English, 4 Mathematics, 3 Natural Sciences, 2 Foreign Languages in the same language, 3 Social Sciences

Satisfactory scores on SAT or ACT. Full standing admission requires a 950 combined minimum on the SAT (minimums of 490 Verbal and 460 mathematics). As an alternative KSU will honor a minimum ACT score in English of 20 and Mathematics of 19 with a composite of 20.

Admission is a selective process. Meeting the application deadline or minimum standards does not guarantee acceptance. It is the responsibility of the applicant to review the admission standards in advance to understand the likelihood of eligibility.

Academic grade point average minimum of 2.5 as calculated by KSU. This GPA is calculated using a 4 point scale. AP and IB classes are not weighted differently.

KSU will not honor the GED from Traditional age students who have been out of high school for less than five years from the date of scheduled graduation. Students who are less than 23 years of age should attend a two year or private college and qualify as a transfer. However, adult learners may file the GED if they have been out of high school for more than five years and attempt to qualify as a non-traditional, adult applicant.

Submit necessary freshman documentation; meet freshman admission requirements.

Submit college transcripts from every college attended.

Applicants with less than 50 quarter hours (30 semester hours) of college credit must submit high school transcripts and SAT or ACT scores in addition to college transcripts.

Standards for beginning freshman admission from high school will be applied to transfer freshmen under these circumstances.

Transfer applicants who are eligible to re-enroll at their last college or university attended and have cumulative grade point averages less than 2.0 may be admitted on academic probation at KSU.

Students qualify as transfers if they have earned 30 transferable semester hours or 50 quarter transferable hours.

GPA is calculated on all academic work attempted from all institutions attended. Even if a course is repeated both grades are calculated.

Transfers must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA to be considered.

Transfer credit evaluations are not done until after the transfer applicant is accepted. All transcripts must be on file for the acceptance decision and prior to evaluation. The Registrar's Office completes the evaluation and a copy is sent to the student and can also be accessed on the web. Information regarding how course work will transfer to KSU
