Citation Guidelines

When you use materials in your research from the KSU Archives that are not published by KSU or another organization, consult the following citation guidelines. A good citation will describe the item and how to find it so that someone wanting to see your source may easily locate it. To this end you will need to indicate:

1.Title of the item or file folder (transcribed from the record or file folder)

2. Date of the item or file folder, if indicated

3. Series and/or collection of the record or file folder

4. The identification number of the collection and box number

5. Name of the Archives (i.e. Kennesaw State University Archives).

EXAMPLES:

Citation for a news release:

Official Statement by Kennesaw State College Regarding the Allegations Made by Dr. Candace Kaspers, News Release, January 19, 1995, University Relations records, Accession Number 05-013, Francis Weyand Legal Files, Kennesaw State University Archives.
