Department of Archives, Special Collections and Records Management Mission Statement The Department of Archives, Special Collections and Records Management consists of three interrelated unites: the Kennesaw State University Archives, the Bentley Rare Book Gallery, and the Records Management division. The University Archives The mandate of the University Archives is to identify, preserve, make available, and incorporate into the curriculum archival records and papers of enduring value documenting the growth and development of programs, and the people, campus, and events in the life of the University. The secondary mission of the Archives is to serve as a research destination by developing a robust, comprehensive archival collection documenting the history and development of Cobb County and the northwest region of the state of Georgia. Bentley Rare Book Gallery The charge of the Bentley Rare Book Gallery is to preserve and develop its collection of rare, unique and historic books. Our mission is to use the collection to inculcate an appreciation of the book among students and members of the KSU community, serve as a resource for researchers and scholars, and enhance the curriculum through hands-on experience. Records Management Division The mission of the Records Management Program is to promote and ensure the proper retention, maintenance, and disposal of records to satisfy the legal, fiscal and administrative needs of the University, and to provide assistance to staff with records management issues. .
