COTA designer named KSU employee of the month
Kennesaw State University has selected Joshua Stone as the employee of the month. Stone is the graphics supervisor and web master for the College of the Arts. He is also a 2006 graduate of the Department of Visual Arts.
Stone was selected based on a nomination by his supervisor, Cheryl Anderson Brown, director of public relations, who wrote, "He brings a dynamic, creative energy to work every day. Operating under a heavy workload, he still manges to consistently create beautiful and effective publications, both in print and electronically, that serve to advance the unit's recruitment, fundraising and outreach goals."
Stone was surprised by the announcement and credited his teachers, colleagues and supervisors for "pushing" him to excel. "I love my job and I am thankful to everyone for pushing me and challenging me to do great work."
In recognition of this honor, the KSU Staff Council presented Stone with gift certificates from the KSU Bookstore, KSU Dining Services and Sidelines, a designated parking spot for one month and a $100 check from the KSU Foundation.
Stone oversees or personally designs the College of the Arts website and numerous publications including Flourish magazine, the season calendar, theatre programs, gallery postcards, exhibition catalogs, the donor brochure and more.
He is the third College of the Arts staff member to be the employee of the month in recent years. Kenyon Shiver, technical director for theatre and performance studies, and Christy Tate, administrative associate in visual arts, were previously selected.
