Congratulations to our scavenger hunt winners

 

Thanks to everyone who participated in our College of the Arts Summer Scavenger Hunt! Congratulations to our winners: Melanie Dobbins, Heidi Grantier, Lauren Highfill, Kacie Kamins, Rae King, Shane McDonald and Shea Trenbeath

Here are the answers to the questions:

1. What instrument is hanging on the wall near Howard Logan Stillwell Theater?

A violin made by Howard Logan Stillwell's father.

2. Whose artwork can be viewed in the Anna F. Henriquez Atrium?

Located in the Bailey Performance Center, the Henriquez Atrium showcases several works by Georgia sculptor Ruth Zuckerman which were given to KSU following the artist's death by her husband, Bernard Zuckerman.

3. What is the chandelier in the Visual Arts Building made out of?

The chandelier was sculpted out of plastic bottles by student Cecelia Feria.

4. In which building do KSU dance majors take most of their dance classes?

The dance classes requiring rehearsal area are taught in the dance studio located in the Student Recreation Center, formerly known as the PE Building.

5. Who is "Miss Mary" and where does she live?
Miss Mary is one of two Steinway concert grand pianos in the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center. Miss Mary is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Bailey's mother, Mary Elizabeth Bailey. It was the first of more than two dozen pianos given to the university by Dr. Bailey to make KSU an All-Steinway School.

6. Who is the tallest "man" on campus?

"Leaning Man III" by sculptor Viola Frey is located in the rotunda of the Student Center. It is one of several largescale works given to the university by

Judy and Richard Marks.

7. Where is the KSU costume shop?

The costume shop is located at KSU Center (3333 Busbee Parkway) near the KSU Employee Fitness Center on the northeast side of the building.

8. What new facilty has a color and a shape but not a name?

The Black Box Theater is located in the recently opened Wilson Building Annex. It offers one of many naming opportunities in the KSU College of the Arts.
