Music industry seminar offers insight, opportunities

From KSU Division of Continuing Education:

Continuing Education at Kennesaw State University is hosting 'Sound Check,' a music seminar that provides insight into the highly competitive music industry. Join us on Friday, November 7, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. where aspiring producers, vocal coaches, songwriters and musicians will hear from top industry professionals about how to break into the music business! Attendees will also be able to learn about the benefits of becoming a member of the preeminent music organization, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences®.

Guest presenters include:


- Kendrick Dean, also known as WyldCard, who has co-written and or co-produced music for GRAMMY Award winners Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, and Mariah Carey among others.

- Jan Smith, a certified multi-platinum vocal coach and vocal producer who has worked with Usher, Rob Thomas and matchbox 20, India.Arie, American Idol finalist Diana DeGarmo, Collective Soul, rapper Young Jeezy, R&B phenomenon Ciara, and country music's Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland just to name a few!
