KSU students highlighted in Atlanta Celebrates Photography exhibition

By Cheryl Anderson Brown

Autumn has many traditions: apple picking, pumpkin carving, leaf collecting, and photography exhibitions. Every Fall since 1999, Metro Atlanta has come to life with great photography thanks to the efforts of the Atlanta Celebrates Photography Festival. Dozens of galleries and organizations participate each year.

This year, KSU Assistant Professor of Photography Matt Haffner, who has frequently participated in ACP, has organized a special ACP exhibition featuring 11 KSU photography students at Worthmore Jewelers in Amsterdam Avenue in Atlanta. The exhibition, "Overhaul: Artists Exploring Issues of Identity," opened Oct. 11 and will continue through Dec. 3. The exhibition is directed by Ashlei Thomas and juried by Stephanie Dowda.

The students in the show are Morgan Booker, Brandi Brock, Frank Cox, Casey Deming, Jeshua Holt, Eileen Kennefick, Billy Linpinsel, Wes Lowrance, Geoffery Smith, Erin Spangler and Amy Yochum.
