The KSU Department of Theatre and Performance Studies will present the original production, "Out of the Dark," in the Studio Theater, Nov. 13-18.
Adapted and directed by Assistant Professor Hannah Blevins Harvey, the performance is based on Harvey's years of ethnographic research in a coal mining community in western Virginia. This multimedia performance unearths the humorous, powerful and poignant stories of miners and their families. Audiences will travel to the depths of the Earth through these tales of rough-and-tumble work, pride of home and loss.
Performances are at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5 and may be ordered online. Call the KSU box office at 770-423-6650 for more information.
