January 2008 Arts Events at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga.—The College of the Arts at Kennesaw State University will present the following public events in January 2008:

January 9-March 11
ART EXHIBITION: “Robert Sherer: Bloodworks, Portraits of Love and Loss in the Age of AIDS.” Robert Sherer is an internationally exhibiting artist and KSU professor. In 2006, he received the College of the Arts Distinguished Scholarship Award, the KSU Distinguished Scholarship Award, and the prestigious KSU Foundation Prize for this series of artworks. Blood Works is the subject of an upcoming documentary film and an art book to be published by the KSU Press in the spring of 2008. The artworks use floral imagery and unconventional media to address serious issues surrounding this global epidemic. This exhibition will include a catalog and gallery tours by the artist. January 15-February 28
ART EXHIBITION: Annual Art and Staff Exhibition. Showcase exhibition of the works of the artists of the Kennesaw State University visual arts and staff demonstrating a wide range of media including sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, mixed media, printmaking and graphic design. January 30-February 1
THEATRE: “Il Teatro Machiavelli.” Performed by Vincent Tortorici.
