KSU student string quartet wins state competition

MTNA regionals in January

The Kennesaw State University student string quartet recently won first place in the Music Teachers National Association's state competition at Columbus State University. The quartet will compete in the regional competition at CSU on January 14-17, 2011. (Above) The quartet practices during a dress rehearsal. Von Housen, a junior violin performance major, shares, “I'm excited and honored that I'm part of the group that won the chamber music division for the entire state. What I enjoyed most about the experience was getting to play with some of my closest friends and sharing the victory that resulted from our hard work.”
