The Strand on the Marietta Square

The College of the Arts at Kennesaw State University will host the KSU Alumni Networking Reception on Friday, March 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the Marietta Square. The event is free and there will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Each alum may bring a guest to the event.

According to Cheryl Anderson Brown, director of Public Relations at the College of the Arts, this is the second year that they have hosted the event and explains that it’s a service to the KSU alumni that allows them to establish conections. Brown also feels that this is a way to introduce the broader KSU alumni community to the College of the Arts.

In addition to the complimentary hors d’oeuvres provided by Triple J's Catering and a cash bar, alumni will also enjoy a chance to win door prizes.

Immediately following the reception, alumni will be invited to join the KSU Musical Theatre
Ensemble for their performance of “Side by Side by Sondheim” at the Strand Theatre. The performance will feature music by Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, Jule Styne, Richard Rodgers and Mary Rodgers and is directed KSU Associate Professor Dean Adams. Tickets will be available for $20 at the Strand Theatre box office and $18 for KSU alumni, students, faculty and staff. The performance will begin at 8 p.m.

Brown explains that these events are excellent opportunities for KSU alumni and it’s important that they take advantage of them. “Particularly in the arts, it’s all about who you know, so it’s important to build and maintain those connections. This is a good way to encourage that.”

The event will be business casual attire. For more information and to register for the event, please visit here. Free parking is available after 5 p.m. at the Cobb County Parking Garage, located between Cherokee and Waddell Streets.
