KSU art students participate in 2013 Collage Colloquium

Several Kennesaw State University School of Art and Design students recently participated in the 2013 Collage Colloquium at Agnes Scott College. Undergraduates from Agnes Scott College, Emory University, KSU, and the University of West Georgia participated in the Colloquium on March 22.


Three papers by KSU art history students were selected for presentation at the 2013 Colloquium. KSU had the most selected papers, and a KSU student won the award for best paper.


Lauren Bearden presented her paper, "Nabataean Aesthetics: Dueling Imagery at Petra in Ancient Jordan," and was honored with the Best Paper Award.


Judith Murphy presented "Maya: The First Renaissance," and Jane Custer presented "An Approachable God: Hermes in the Temple of Hera at Olympia, Greece."


Art students Blair Becker, Guillermo Dominguez, Ryan Hartley, Holly Lacour, Taylor Kanani Tolbert and Laura Vela also participated in the Colloquium, exhibiting their artwork in a juried show.
