KENNESAW, Ga. (January 28, 2014) —
Kennesaw State University's School of Music will present the Annual Collage Concert on Saturday Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. This signature event showcases faculty soloists and student ensembles in a fast-paced blend of vignette performances. The performances span an assortment of musical styles and instrumentation. Special lighting and staging create a theatrical effect as this exciting concert displays all of the talent in the School of Music in one magical night.
Michael Alexander, KSU director of orchestras and interim director of the School of Music, explains that it will be a continuous show of varied music, without a break between each piece. About 200 faculty and students will perform in the 90-minute show.
This year's Collage Concert is a fundraiser; all ticket proceeds from the concert will directly fund scholarships for music students. "This is a great way to help support future musicians in our community, and you get to hear a fabulous concert,” says Alexander.
