Life in the Arts
John Sparrow, artistic director of the Atlanta Ballet, shared his insights with student Elizabeth Neidel, following a panel discussion about “Life in the Arts,” presented by the College of the Arts on April 28. The panel featured many important arts leaders, including Emily Laskin, director of development for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Susan Booth, artistic director of the Alliance Theatre, John Sparrow, vice president and general manager of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Richard Garner, artistic director of Georgia Shakespeare Company, and Susan Elliott, editor of Musical America. The panelists talked about careers in the arts and answered students’ questions. |

Vis Arts alumni Shane McDonald and Matthew Craven are featured in a two-man exhibition at the Booth Museum in Cartersville through May 29.
T&PS alumna Kai Mamon is organizing Shooting for the Stars Celebrity Weekend, a fundraiser to benefit inner city programs in San Antonio, Tex. June 16-19.
Vis Arts student Amanda Palmer, who is represented by the new Castleberry Gallery, was recently reviewed by the AJC.

2005 Starlight Series Announced
Dust off those lawn chairs, the Starlight Summer Concert Series is scheduled to return to the Legacy Gazebo Amphitheater on June 12 with a performance by the KSU Jazz Ensemble. Other performers include John Pizzarelli, the Sauce Boss and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra.
