Vicki Ragan. "Recurring Visions: 30 Years of Photography"

Curated by Will Hipps, this exhibition features 100 small-scale photographs by renowned photographer, Vicki Ragan. The exhibit will be hosted by David Waldron Gallery in Atlanta and Tointon Gallery for the Visual Arts in Greeley, Colorado, before arriving at KSU and is presented as part of the 10th Annual Atlanta Celebrates Photography Festival. Opening reception: Oct. 14, 5-8 p.m., dialogue with the artist at 6 p.m.

"The Apple Tree "

Music by Jerry Bock. Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. Directed and choreographed by Hylan Scott. Music direction by Russell Young. A co-production of the Department of Music and the Department of Theatre & Performance Studies. Based on the short stories “The Diary of Adam and Eve” by Mark Twain, “The Lady or the Tiger” by Frank Stockton and “Passionella” by Jules Feiffer, this musical triptych includes humorous and satirical adaptations of some of our culture’s formative stories, including the Garden of Eden and Cinderella.

KSU Orchestra

Bridget Reischl, guest conductor. Bridget Reischl leads the KSU Orchestra in the world premiere of KSU Composer-in-Residence Laurence Sherr’s Holocaust memorial work “Flame Language.” Faculty artist Oral Moses, bass-baritone, is the featured soloist in the new work with lyrics by Nobel laureate Nelly Sachs. Other works include “Light” by Higdon and “Romeo & Juliet” by Prokofiev. Read more.
