In 2007, when Bobbie Bailey named the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center, she said she had just one more thing she wanted to do for the Kennesaw State University: make it an All-Steinway School. So, she purchased enough pianos to change out the school’s entire inventory.
As it turns out, however, that wasn’t the only thing she wanted to do for the School of Music. In March 2012, she made another significant gift that has enabled her to name the acclaimed concert hall in the Bailey Center. This time, she has chosen to honor her sister and late brother-in-law. On April 21, the Audrey B. and Jack E. Morgan, Sr. Concert Hall was dedicated.
The Morgans are also longtime supporters of the School of Music. Before Mr. Morgan’s death in December 2011, they created the largest scholarship endowment fund for KSU music students. Within the last month, Mrs. Morgan doubled that fund so that even more students may benefit from it each year.
“Dr. Bailey and the Morgans are among the most generous people I know,” said Joseph Meeks, dean of the College of the Arts. “Not only have they been angels to the School of Music, but their philanthropy extends into so many areas of the community, including healthcare, education and sports. We are deeply honored by their ongoing friendship.”
The naming of Morgan Hall was celebrated during a performance by the KSU Orchestra, Chorale and Chamber Singers featuring Mozart's "Vespers" and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
