Represented are paintings, sculpture and works on paper by Thomas Hart Benton, Viola Frey, Michael Goldberg, Everett Shinn, Joe Zucker and others. Exhibition and accompanying catalog feature research and writing by KSU visual arts students.

Sponsored by Visions Student Art Guild. Celebrating more than a quarter century of spirited competition among KSU student artists, the 28th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition is open to all students. Entries are juried by distinguished Atlanta area arts professionals, with cash prizes awarded. Many of the works are available for purchase.

Invisible Body, Conspicuous Mind: Contemporary Romanian Art from the Collection of Ambassador Nicholas F. Taubman and Mrs. Jenny Taubman

January 27 - March 3, 2011

Guest curated by Lara Taubman. How does a citizen suddenly become a physical non-entity? This exhibition features contemporary Romanian art that visually confronts the issues of personal identity in everyday life. It is not only a window into a unique post-Communist bloc country but inadvertently produces a subtle, potent dialogue about life today in the United States. A Year of Romania event.

Annual Art Faculty Exhibition

Showcasing artists from the KSU Department of Visual Arts faculty, the exhibition will feature a wide range of media including sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, mixed media, graphic design and printmaking. Artists included in the exhibition are Valerie Dibble, Rick Garner, Diana Gregory, Matt Haffner, Lin Hightower, Carole Maugť-Lewis, April Munson, Joe Remillard, Don Robson, Daniel Sachs, Keith Wallace Smith and Katherine Taylor.

Water Works, Phase i

September 20-25, 2011

An on-campus installation of public art based on water as a medium or surface for the creation of art, this ongoing project will explore the relationships between artists and materials and art and audience in nontraditional exhibition spaces. KSU Main Campus. Ben Goldman, Curator.

Linda Anderson: An Artful Memory

October 18 - December 5, 2011

Often referred to as “memory paintings,” the works of renowned Georgia folk artist Linda Anderson depict scenes that are unpretentious and sophisticated yet somehow hauntingly familiar. Captivating her viewers by blurring the boundaries between memories of the artist and of the audience, Anderson tells her tales with a combination of simplicity, levity, and even a touch of naïveté.
