Jarmea Boone joined the COTA Office of Publications and Public Relations staff in January 2009. Her responsibilities include performing first edits on all web stories, press releases and profiles before passing them on to the director and the client for approval. In addition, she updates the COTA e-news and headlines pages, the web story archives and the COTA events pages weekly.
Boone earned her Bachelor of Arts in English at Spelman College in May 2006. She earned a Master's certificate in fiction writing at Kennesaw State University in December 2007 and is currently a December 2009 candidate for a Master of Arts in Professional Writing at Kennesaw State University.
She has served as a fiction copy editor for Spelman College's "Focus" literary magazine. For two consecutive semesters, Boone was a public relations intern at KSU where she gained experience writing specifically for COTA. She was also a features writer for "Flourish" Magazine and, in her first semester, collected research and interviewed all personnel involved in the award-winning KSU production of "Moby-Dick." This research culminated in a two-page spread in the magazine.
Boone hopes to enter pubic relations writing and publishing once she graduates from KSU.
