Annual Reportsreport

The Division of Student Affairs at Kennesaw State University is committed to the assessment and evaluation of the student experience beyond the classroom.  Each department and unit within the division is responsible for providing this evidence. 

The Division has identified the following learning and development outcomes to which we believe students achieve through their interaction with departments and units within our Division:

  • Knowledge acquisition, integration, construction, and application
  • Cognitive complexity
  • Intrapersonal development
  • Interpersonal competence
  • Humanitarianism and civic engagement
  • Practical competence

Assessment within the Division includes, but is not limited to: needs assessment, program evaluation, learning outcomes, and tracking metrics.  While the assessment process is primarily de-centralized, the Director of Assessment provides leadership and support throughout, consulting and assisting on projects as needed.

During the summer, an Annual Report is completed by each department and unit within the Division and includes information about each area, descriptions of their current assessment initiatives, program objectives and learning outcomes, points of pride/major accomplishments, and how the unit/department supports the university’s strategic plan. 

Starting in August 2013, departments and units will submit an assessment plan for the academic year, which will include at least one learning outcomes assessment.  These plans will be reviewed and approved/adapted as needed.
