President's Charge

Charge of President Daniel Papp to the KSU Athletics Board
Approved February 26, 2008

The Kennesaw State University (KSU) Athletic Board is charged with promoting the educational programs of KSU by encouraging participation by the student body in intercollegiate athletics, and helping identify and develop facilities and other requirements that the intercollegiate athletic program may require.

On behalf of the President, and to assure the presidential and institutional control expected by the NCAA and the Board of Regents, the KSU Athletics Board and its members exercise oversight of intercollegiate athletics conducted at or in the name of KSU, and all business affairs of the Athletic Association. The Board recommends to the President, and the President approves, the general policies under which the Department of Athletics and its affiliated organizations (including booster clubs) shall operate.

Further, the Board is tasked with providing advice to the Athletic Director to help insure that the KSU athletics program is in compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations, and with helping the President assure that KSU maintains institutional control of all aspects of its intercollegiate athletic programs.
