2007-2008 Scholarship Recipient

We are honored with The Wilkes/Burnett Black Alumni Society Scholarship. The Wilkes/Burnett Black Alumni Society Scholarship was established by Dr. Shelby Wilkes and his wife Dr. Jettie Burnett, Atlanta ophthalmologists and Dr. Wilkes is a KSU MBA for Physician Executives graduate.

The scholarship gives the Society an opportunity to recognize and support deserving KSU undergraduate students who have distinguished themselves academically in science and math.

The Black Alumni Society is pleased to highlight our 2007-2008 recipient of The Wilkes/Barnett Black Alumni Society Scholarship. Jamilah N. Hankins is a Junior in her Forensic Chemistry/Pre-Med major and she has earned a 3.68 GPA. Upon her graduation, she will prepare for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). Once she passes the MCAT she will apply to a medical college of her choice to become a Cardiologist. Jamilah believes maintaining good study habits and remaining confident in her abilities to succeed as a student at KSU will help her to gain a broader knowledge about the medical field.

Jamilah volunteer college activities involve being a servicing member of KSU's LINK (Leaders in Kennesaw) and Circle K International.

We congratulate Jamilah and wish her success in her academic and professional endeavors!
