Statement of Purpose

To promote the cause of higher education for black students at KSU;

To provide a forum for information exchange and networking among black alumni, students, friends, faculty, and staff of KSU;

To foster a spirit of diversity and a celebration of cultures through organized events, such as participation on the Black History Celebration Committee;

To assist in recognizing the achievement of new graduates, matriculating students, alumni, faculty, and staff at the annual Accolade Brunch;

To support the efforts to recruit and retain black students at KSU;

To foster the development and maintenance of current scholarship; future scholarships; and other means for assisting black students in their pursuit of education at KSU;

To encourage black alumni to serve as mentors for KSU students, and in the community at large; and

To increase membership and participation of black alumni within the Alumni Society and all levels of leadership within the Alumni Association.
