Planning and Design Services | Organizational Chart
The Facilities mission is to provide effective and efficient support services to the academic community by maintaining an attractive, safe learning environment at minimal costs to the University. Specifically, units in the Facilities Division serve student, faculty and staff by planning, designing and maintaining campus buildings, grounds and equipment that support the University's goal of excellence in teaching, research and public service.
We are committed to involve and educate each staff member in understanding customer needs, identifying and eliminating operations and developing techniques for constantly improving all support services.
The basic responsibility of the Facilities Division is the planning, design and operation/maintenance of the physical facilities of the University in a safe environment. Any, and all changes to physical facilities should be performed by - or coordinated with the Plant Operations. All connections made to utility systems (water, sewer, electrical, gas or steam), either inside or outside of buildings, should be accomplished by Plant Operations personnel or by qualified professionals under Plant Operations guidance.
All plans and specifications should be reviewed by the Facilities Planning & Design Services Department for compliance and statutory requirements and established codes and policies. Most of our utilities are underground, therefore the grounds around your building should not be disturbed without approval from the Plant Operations.
