FIRST-YEAR ORIENTATION

  • All first-year sessions are mandatory.
  • To attend orientation, all students (and parents if they wish to attend the optional parent orientation session)
    must each register and pay their respective fees online in advance

  • Students: follow the instructions at the bottom of this page for "Student Sign-up"
  • Parents: registration and fee payment of $30 for each parent is separate from the student's fee
  • Students are required to stay for the entire orientation session in order to register for classes.
  • Students who arrive more than 15 minutes late are not guaranteed a seat at orientation.
  • To get your KSU Student ID, bring Proper Identification. Bring both the original and a copy of a valid government-issued document that includes a photo for identity verification. Accepted documents include: 1) a state driver's license, 2) US passport, 3) US Military ID, 4) Homeland Security ID or 5) Foreign passport with a homeland security stamp.

* The dates highlighted are the only dates that Advisors from the College of the Arts will be available at orientation to advise students regarding course selection and scheduling for their first term. If you are a College of the Arts student and are unable to attend one of the highlighted sessions listed above, you may register for another session. You may contact the College of the Arts (770.423.6614) for advising information prior to your scheduled orientation session.

TIME:   8:00am. Check-in begins. Session 9:00am-4:00pm

Students will have several opportunities during the orientation day to obtain KSU Student ID's and parking decals. Students need to bring both the original and a copy of a valid government-issued document that includes a photo for identity verification. COST: Each Student is $40.00 (non-refundable, non-transferable)
           Registration fee includes lunch.

STUDENT REGISTRATION AND FEE PAYMENT.
Students attending orientation will have the opportunity to register for classes during orientation. Students will also have the opportunity to change or add to their class schedule during the Late Registration and Drop/Add phase.

In order to reserve your orientation session you must sign-up and pay in advance online. Using this option will expedite the processing of your reservation. After you sign up, print copies of your confirmation. If you choose to pay by mail or drop-off your orientation fee to the CAPS Center; return a copy of your registration to the following address with a check or money-order made payable to Kennesaw State University. Be sure to include the date you plan to attend and your KSU Student ID number on your check. Your payment must be received five days before your scheduled orientation. At orientation check-in please have a copy of your confirmation available.

*Note: If you are required to take the Compass Exam you must take the exam and allow 24-48 hours after the exam for your scores to download before you will be eligible to sign up for an orientation session.
