OVERVIEW FOR UNDERGRADUATES
Welcome to the CAPS Center Orientation web page. Our Orientation Program is designed
for First Year Students, Transfer Students and Parents. It was developed to assist students and their parents in making
a stress-free transition to Kennesaw State University. The CAPS Orientation Program has been
recognized by the Foundations of Excellence Organization. As the Director of CAPS, I hope your
orientation experience is a positive one. Please read the following overview and follow the instructions.

Parent Orientation.
We are excited that your son or daughter has chosen to attend Kennesaw State University! The transition to the university environment will be exciting and can be challenging for parents. Parent Orientation is a separate program designed for you! Our program of speakers, tours, and snack were planned so that we may focus on your concerns and interests. Our counselors will provide strategies for supporting your student as he/she makes the successful transition to a university student.

5) Parents, please remind your student to bring Proper ID and their Automobile License Tag information with them. For FALL Semester information please click: FALL First Year or FALL Transfer
Registration & payment are separate processes for parents and students. Parents will register & pay via KSU Mall. Students will register & pay through their Owl Express access.

First-Year Orientation is designed for students who have recently graduated from high school or have been out of school for an extended period of time but have had no previous college experience. All first-time, full-time students are required to attend an orientation session. Part-time students are strongly encouraged to attend. Orientation helps these students:

Transfer Orientation is designed to assist students, who are coming to KSU from another institution, with important information regarding enrollment at KSU. These students can:
Receive a KSU ID and parking decal
Receive information about programs of study and transfer credit policies
Learn about academic advising from their departmental major
Discover how to build a schedule using the KSU catalog, on-line Web Link, and the Schedule of Credit Courses
Register for the coming Semester's courses (if cleared for registration)
Receive information on how and when to pay fees
Find out more about student activities and campus services
Registering for Academic Courses at Orientation
KSU's online registration system will be available on campus for orientation participants, to help facilitate an early registration. If a student's admission file is complete and he/she has identified courses from the current semester's Schedule of Credit Courses registration booklet, the option to register for all or any of these courses will be provided. A student will also have the opportunity to change or add to his/her course schedule and to delay payment of tuition and fees throughout the Late Registration Drop/Add period. Courses relevant to the semester can be found at the schedule of credit courses. Information on university policies, procedures, and degree programs can be found in the Academic Undergraduate Catalog.
