CLEP
(College Level Examination Program)

Go to this link to determine if the exam you desire is among the
CLEP Exams administered at KSU.

Kennesaw State University only administers and accepts CLEP Subject Examinations listed on the link above. Examinees must be a currently registered student at Kennesaw State University in order to be tested and thereby receive credit by examination. No student will be permitted to take a CLEP exam or to receive credit by examination for a course in which the student was previously enrolled, unless the student withdrew from the course within the change/drop-add registration period.

All CLEP exams are computerized and are completed in one sitting EXCEPT the CLEP Freshman College Composition exam. This exam requires two appointments. The first appointment consists of a 90-minute computerized multiple-choice exam. Upon passing this section the student will then make his/her second appointment along with another sitting fee of $20.00. The second appointment is a timed 90 minute typed essay (typed on the computer in Word).

Successful passage of a CLEP exam will be recorded as satisfied on the student's academic record by course title, course number, and semester credit hours earned. A course "grade" and "quality points" will not be recorded nor computed in the student's grade point average. CLEP credit does not count towards residency requirements. A maximum of 30-hours by examination is allowed at KSU.

A student may request to retake a CLEP Subject Exam, after a minimum of six months from the date of the previous exam date, by submitting a written request or sending an e-mail to Paula M Almond, Testing Coordinator of CAPS, Kennesaw State University, MB #00117, 1000 Chastain Rd, Kennesaw, GA, 30144.
The request must include:

1 - exam to be retaken,
2 - date of the previous testing
3 - student's name and social security number, and
4 - student's address, phone number, and signature
