GA Constitution Exemption Exam




PURPOSE To earn a degree from any unit in the University System of Georgia, students must satisfy the Georgia legislative requirement demonstrating that they have a basic understanding of the Constitution of the state of Georgia . This requirement can also be met by taking POLS 1101 at any University System of Georgia institution.

ELIGIBILITY: KSU Transfer students who have taken/earned credit for POLS 1101 from any out of state institution, but who need to satisfy the GA Legislative Requirement are eligible to take the exam.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: Students must register for the exam in person. Download this registration form, fill it out and drop it off in personat the CAPS Center (Kennesaw Hall, Room 2401). Register early. Space is limited

EXAM INFORMATION: At check-in, students must show an official photo ID . You will have one hour to answer 50 multiple choice questions. You must answer at least 30 questions correctly to pass the exam and satisfy the constitution requirement. There is only one correct answer for each question. The results of the exam will be available approximately one week after the administration.

The exam will concentrate on seven general topics: the history of Georgia 's Constitutions, the structure and organization of government, basic concepts and definitions, the power and authority of officials and agencies, procedures, rights and restrictions on governmental power.

FEE: No cost.
