In 2012, President Papp charged Dr. Erik Malewski, chief diversity officer, to continue preparation for a climate assessment initiated under the direction of interim chief diversity officer, Dr. Linda Lyons. The Campus Culture and Climate Assessment Task Force was created and Drs. Val Whittlesey and Chris Ziegler were appointed as co-chairs. The Task Force was charged with moving forward with the recommendations put forth by the Campus Climate Team. Rankin and Associates Consulting, the recommended external vendor, was secured for the project and Drs. Whittlesey and Ziegler began the process of populating the CCCATF with nearly 40 representatives from departments and offices across the University. The co-chairs sought representation from all major units within the University; careful attention was paid to the balance faculty, administrators, staff, and students as well as the level within the organization. On February 19, 2014, the survey went live. The results of the survey will be presented to the campus in early Fall 2014.
