ABOUT
THE CONFERENCE
Kennesaw State University’s Bagwell College of Education (BCOE), Center for Service, Outreach & Partnerships, and the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) are pleased to announce the second annual “Making an Impact on P-12 Learning” conference for institutions of higher education who prepare teachers and educational leaders. The 2008 conference will focus on how colleges and universities can measure, report, and enhance the impact of their teacher and leader preparatory programs on all P-12 student achievement. Our target audience includes college and university faculty who prepare teachers and leaders, college of education deans, P-12 partner school system teachers, administrators, and professional development personnel, researchers, policy makers, and graduate candidates. In addition stimulating addresses and sessions, the conference offers an opportunity for participants to get to know each other and network with teacher educators throughout the nation.

CALL FOR POSTER PROPOSALS
EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 29, 2008
Participants
are invited to submit proposals for poster and table-top teaching exchanges
on innovative teaching and assessment techniques. Presenters should mail
or e-mail a 4-5 sentence description, including presentation title, authors,
and affiliations, to Bill Hill, KSU CETL Director, by February 29, 2007
(e-mail: bhill@kennesaw.edu). Because of limited space, proposals must
be received by the deadline for inclusion in the final program. Instructions
for preparing your poster will be sent with your notification of acceptance.

POSTER AWARD
Kennesaw State University's Center for Excellence in
Teaching & Learning sponsors an award for the outstanding poster at
the conference. A committee of three conference presenters
will select the outstanding poster and the authors will receive a certificate
of recognition and a $100 cash award.
REGISTRATION
The
pre-registration fee for the conference is $200 if received by Friday,
March 7, 2008. The fee after March 7 and onsite will be $225. Onsite registration
is on a space available basis. A reduced fee of $185 is available for
each member of an institutional team (2 or more participants). GRADUATE
STUDENTS, ADJUNCT FACULTY, AND HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS ARE ALSO INVITED TO
ATTEND AT A SPECIAL CONFERENCE RATE OF $160. The registration fee will
include all meals scheduled during the conference, breaks, and conference
materials.

can only be done online. To register go to the KSU Mall (https://www.kennesaw.edu/ksumall)

1. Select CETL from among the "Store" options.
2. On the next page you see, choose the conference option.
3. From among the conference options, select "MAKING AN IMPACT"
by clicking on the "view details" button next to it.
4. At this point you will select the payment method. Then click on "add
to cart."
5. Complete the registration form and questions on the next page you will
see and follow the prompts to pay.REFUND POLICY: If a participant has to cancel
for any reason, we will give a full refund if cancellation received by
5:00PM on Monday, March 10, 2008, with no refund after that date.

TRAVEL
& LODGING
All
conference sessions and lodging will be at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Perimeter
NW Hotel, conveniently located at 6345 Powers Ferry Road off I-285 at
Exit 22, which is one exit east of the junction of I-75 and I-285. Rooms
are available at the Crowne Plaza at a special conference rate of $95
(single or double) and can be made by calling 1-770-955-1700. Be sure
to specify the "P-12 Learning Conference" when making your
reservations to secure the special conference rate. You can also book
your reservation online at the Crowne Plaza conference room reservation
Web page by visiting the MAKING AN IMPACT Web site at Crowne
Plaza Reservation Web site. Please note that room availability
at the conference rate CANNOT be guaranteed after February 14, 2008, so
make your reservations early!
The hotel is also accessible by van service
(A&M Limousine, http://www.aandmlimo.com/airportshuttle.asp)
from the Atlanta International Airport. In addition, you can also take
the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit System (MARTA) from the airport to the
Dunwoody (Perimeter Mall) station. The hotel offers a free shuttle service
to and from this station at the following pickup times: 9:30AM; 12:30PM;
2:30PM; 7:30PM. The shuttle service is by appointment only and you must
call the hotel when you arrive at the train station to arrange a pickup
time. Taxi service to the hotel is also available from this station ($12.00).
