2009-2010
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Team Funding Awards
List
of 2008-2009 Recipients --- List of Recipients in Previous Years
Annually,
CETL offers several funding awards for participants in its Scholarship
of Teaching and Learning Team (STLT) initiative. Based upon a successful
program at Portland State University, STLT is designed to help facilitate
and recognize faculty endeavors to do research on teaching and learning
as it occurs in higher education settings, including research on student
learning designed to meet KSU's Assurance of Learning (AOL) initiatives.
Although participants work autonomously on their project throughout the
year, they also attend several team meetings to advance their own research
through discussion, problem solving, and the sharing of ideas. Through
a community of scholars, this interdisciplinary approach to research can
both facilitate research and help keep projects on track through collegial
support and encouragement. Benefits of the program include: team support,
resource and technical support, a writing retreat offered to STLT participants
to assist with project completion, and travel support for presentations
at professional meetings.
Funds
will be awarded to faculty members (as teams or individuals) conducting
research in the fields of scholarship of teaching and learning at Kennesaw
State University. Accepted projects are awarded a total of $1,000. A complete description of the program, including application materials
and criteria for this year's awards (which have already been selected), is available
at this link (NOTE: This is a Rich Text Format,
rtf, document).The
deadline for receipt of proposals for 2009-2010 awards is August 31, 2009.
