Enhancing
Undergraduate Research Initiatives
The Creative Activities
and Research Experiences for Teams (CARET) program is designed to enhance
undergraduate involvement and experience in research and creative activity.
This funding program is designed to encourage and support faculty engagement
in research or creative activity with undergraduate student collaborators
using a team approach over two semesters (Spring-Summer 2009). The research
or creative activity can be one project for all team members or multiple
projects across students. Although it is not required, faculty in departments
with graduate programs are strongly encouraged to include Graduate Research
Assistants as mentors. A complete description of the program, including application materials
and criteria, iavailable
at this link (NOTE: This is a Rich Text Format,
rtf, document). The
deadline for receipt of proposals is April 7, 2008 for Spring-Summer 2009 projects.
CETL will sponsor a limited number of travel funding awards for faculty and their student undergraduate researchers to attend professional conferences to present their research. In order to provide as many opportunities as possible to support student researcher travel, each funding award will be limited to a maximum of $300 for the faculty mentor and $300 for each student. Individual faculty and students may only apply for one funding award per fiscal year. Faculty must be under contract at Kennesaw and students must be enrolled at Kennesaw State during the time period of the travel. Travel must start on or after July 1, 2008 and be completed by June 30, 2009. A
complete description of the program, including application materials and
criteria, is available
at this link (NOTE: This is a Rich Text Format,
rtf, document). Funds are awarded on a “first come, first served” basis until exhausted.
