B.S. in Health and Physical Education
The Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), fully approved by Georgia’s Professional Standards Commission (PSC) for P-12 teacher certification, and nationally recognized by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE). Kennesaw State University is one of only three programs in Georgia to be nationally recognized by NASPE and the only program in the metro-Atlanta area to receive this distinction. |

The Health and Physical Education (HPE) program is designed to prepare health and physical education teachers at all grade levels (pre-kindergarten through grade 12). Teacher candidates complete the equivalent of a major in health and physical education and a second major in pedagogical studies with an equal emphasis on the teaching of both health and physical education. |
The HPE program requires majors to apply for program admission in order to begin coursework in the professional education sequence. Students are advised to declare their major early in their academic careers and meet regularly with their HPE advisor to ensure a timely graduation from the program. |
