All School of Nursing and Biol 3317 online faculty teaching online courses are trained Certified Online Facilitators. They have completed a 6 week online course as a student. In this educational course, they not only experienced what it was like to be an online student, but learned how to convert an onground course to the online format, how to design an online course, and the best teaching methods to use. The faculty use the educational theory of constructivism to design and implement their online courses. This method is highly student to student interactive. The courses are not in the mode of a correspondence type course. Students are highly active in their learning -- student to student, student to faculty, and student to internet.
