Welcome to the web page for Mu Phi Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing. More than 380,000 nurses world-wide have been inducted as members since 1922. I am delighted to be a part of this chapter and serve as president of such an honorable and respected organization. The vision of Mu Phi, crafted from STTI, is to create local/regional communities of leaders, educators, and scholars. Thus, the focus of this organization is to attend to the learning and professional development needs of nurse leaders, educators, and scholars.
Many dynamic and visionary members have come before me to translate the core values of leadership and scholarship into action for this chapter. Thank you for the opportunity to continue this tradition and to enhance the future work of this chapter. Please take a few minutes to review this site, including the current newsletter, for information about the Mu Phi Chapter. Membership into this organization is through invitation at the annual December induction ceremony or through transfer of membership from another chapter. Students and community nurses are encouraged to review the criteria for membership on the Sigma Theta Tau International website, www.nursingsociety.org . Please contact me if you have questions about this process.
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing's official flower is the orchid. There are over 35,000 species of orchids worldwide; each one is unique in size, color and shape. This flower represents the membership of our organization. It takes many unique members to create a successful organization. If you are currently a member, please contact me if you would like to get involved. I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
