August 2011-present: participating in a Faculty Learning Community “Interdisciplinary Teaching and Practice at the KSU Community Health Clinic” with Nursing, Social Work and Human Services Faculty. We were awarded a CETL grant to explore policy and practice methods to enhance interdisciplinary teaching and improve patient care at the clinic.

November 2011: Co-authored “WSON Guidelines for Review, Promotion and Post-Promotion Review of Lecturer” and it is now included in the WSON

March 2010: Authored online module for RNs for Elsevier/Mosby Books: “MH_022: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: Adolescent Patients.”

December 2009: Edited book “The Friendly Enemy” written by Lorraine Fast. The book discusses the issues of childhood sexual abuse and pedophilia. The book is currently in submission for publication.

• 2008 – 2009: Served on the Doctor of Nursing Practice committee for a Medical College of Georgia DNP student implementing a suicide assessment in the KSU Health Clinic.
• 2006 – 2007: Provided supervision for a Master of Science in Nursing graduate who was gathering supervised practice hours to sit for the ANCC certification exam in Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing.
• 2003 – 2004:  Provided clinical supervision for a Master of Science in Psychiatric Nursing CNS student from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. 

The Community

• 2003 – Present: American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health volunteer – Provider of mental health services to victims of disaster, e. g. Hurricane Katrina, tornadoes, flooding, etc.
• 2000 – Present: Kingdom Communities, Inc. Board Member – KCI is a faith-based organization that is working to build a therapeutic ranch for children and adolescents who are in State or Department of Juvenile Justice custody.
• 2008, 2009, 2010 Provider Mental Health Screening and Referrals at health fairs  for underprivileged children and adults at Hickory Lakes Apartment Complex
• 2001 – 2011: Hope Minister at Mt. Paran North Church of God – provided care and counsel for individuals and families in crisis
• 1999 - 2001 volunteered as a provider of individual counseling and play therapy for children and adolescents at Mt. Paran North Church of God.

Supervision and Mentoring:

In collaboration with the KSU School of Social Work, clinical supervision and mentoring of KSU Masters of Social Work student interns is provided at the KSU Community Clinic at MUST Ministries, including internship instruction in assessing and diagnosing emotional disturbance or mental illness and making appropriate referrals for ongoing care.
